Matthew VanFossan is many things to many people but always seeking to serve as a guide for others. Within this website you'll find links to a memoir he has written, music he has recorded, and a blog he currently maintains. You'll also be able to schedule one-on-one phone sessions with him. Through these means Matthew guides while he receives guidance.
Matthew's guide dogs are an important part of his life. His first book, Through Gilly's Eyes is a candid, humorous, and thought-provoking account of his life from the point of view of his first guide dog. His second and current guide dog, Achilles, provides the point of view for the blog found here.
Matt met his wife Rita while he was living in Rio de Janeiro teaching English. In addition to leading him to his life partner, his experiences in Brazil have been a great source of inspiration for his music, which draws upon Bossa Nova and MPB, two musical styles characteristic of the country. Heartfelt compositions offer inspiration and emotional healing. To jump to the music page and find out more, click here.
